Craft Stamps

There are many uses for craft stamps. Most of the time they are used for paper crafts, but many of them can be used on fabrics as well. Ordinary rubber craft stamps may be used to make a “burn out” design in velvet fabric by using an iron. It removes the nap in the area of the stamp leaving the rest of the velvet intact.

Craft stamps with the alphabet imprinted on them are sometimes called scrapbooking stamps, but you can use any craft stamp to embellish the pages of your scrapbooks. They come in such a large variety of styles and subject matter it’s easy to find something to compliment any sort of page. There are stamps with postmarks from all over the world and even with landmarks of European cities that work well in a scrapbook devoted to vacation photos.

There are many scrapbooking stamps with themes for weddings and bridal showers. Baby books are another subject that provides use for the many cute baby inspired stamps. Scrapbooks are carefully constructed works of art these days and I think they are so much more interesting to look through with the addition of scrapbooking papers, stickers, and stamps. It is amazing to see the amount of imagination and work that people put into creating a scrapbook that is worthy of the keepsakes that they include.

Craft stamps can also be used on invitations, greeting cards, stationery, and thank you notes. They make them to look like book plates to personalize everything in your library. They can easily be used to decorate plain bags that are used for votive candles or party favors. You can make plain labels special with a craft stamp and use them to label your cookie tins or other containers for food gifts. Make labels for your homemade pickles, jellies, and jams; add a contrasting ribbon and you have a very nice gift.

I have used craft stamps on plain canvas tote bags to personalize them for gifts. A number of dog and cat breeds are available for the pet lover. Think about using them on leashes and collars or make a personalized pet place mat. If you have pet supplies that you use for doggy day care or boarding, a personalized bag will keep them neatly organized and separate from things that belong to another pet. You can also use them to personalize your child’s belongings for trips to day care. If you are not artistic, you can still look like you are by using craft stamps in creative ways.
